About
An agency built around the brief
Vetted psychiatric expert witnesses, matched carefully and managed through to filed report. Based in Leeds, instructed across Yorkshire and beyond.
Leeds Psychiatry was set up to make it easier to find a psychiatric expert witness who is right for the case in front of you. We understand a busy legal diary, what a usable report looks like, and what a hearing date really means. Our role is to match you with the right expert and to keep the engagement moving from instruction to filed report.
How we vet experts
Every expert on our panel holds GMC registration with a relevant specialist endorsement, maintains substantive NHS or independent clinical practice, and has prior medico-legal reporting experience. We ask for sample reports, references, and confirmation of CPR Part 35 training before listing.
Who instructs us
Claimant and defendant solicitors across Yorkshire, panel firms acting for insurers, NHS Resolution panel solicitors, local authority legal services, the Government Legal Department, and Children's Guardians. We work as comfortably with a single high-street firm as with a national insurer's panel.
What we do, and what we do not
We introduce instructing legal teams to suitable experts, agree fees, and manage timescales. The expert is independently instructed by you and owes their primary duty to the court. We do not write reports, give clinical opinions, or hold a clinician–patient relationship with any subject.
Where we work
Leeds and the wider Yorkshire region by default, including Sheffield, Bradford, Wakefield, York, Hull, and Harrogate. Assessments are arranged in person at our Leeds rooms, at chambers or solicitors' offices, or by secure video. National instructions are accepted where an expert can travel.
